Premier show of Ningol Macha Leringei staged

BISHNUPUR, Dec 3: A special show of Ningol Macha Leiringei, Moirang College Theatre Circle's first drama production was staged at INA Memorial Hall Moirang today. The drama was produced under the College Students Mentoring Initiative (COSMI) of the Directorate of University and Higher Education, Manipur and presented by  Moirang College Students Union 2022/2023.
The premier show was graced by Tongbram Robindro, MLA Thanga AC as the chief guest; Thongam Shanti, MLA Moirang AC as the functional president and Loitongbam Brajmohan, Theatre and Cultural activist and Md Raheijuddin Sheikh, Principal Moirang College as the guests of honour.        
The drama was written by Md Raheijuddin Sheikh, with College alumnus Ningthoujam Kingson Meetei at the directorial helm. It may be noted that the drama is based on the sacrifice of a Manipuri Muslim family to save the life of Bir Tikendrajit Singh during the Anglo-Manipur War of 1891.
