Bail for village chief

Senapati, Jan 31: The Court of Session Judge Senapati has granted bail to the village chief of Khabung Khunou who was arrested by police on the charge of leasing out land for poppy cultivation, yesterday.
Chief of Khabung Khunou S Johnson (60) was released after staying in judicial custody for two weeks with a set of conditions, said Senapati police.
As per the conditions, the accused shall surrender his passport, not leave the jurisdiction of Senapati and Manipur without giving prior information to the Senapati Court and refrain from tampering evidence. The accused has also been directed to appear all the hearings of Senapati Court and appear before police as and when required.
