CEO informs

KOHIMA, Feb 9: The office of the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Nagaland has informed presidents of all recognized political parties and 'registered unrecognised political parties' not to upload their advertisements on social media without obtaining pre-certification from the autho- rity concerned.
"It was stated that some political parties were uploading advertisements in electronic media without obtaining prior certification which is against the Supreme Court order ofApril 13, 2004 and standing instructions of the Election Commission of India. Therefore, any kind of advertisement in electronic media requires pre-certification from the committee before publication," the office of the CEO said today.
 In this regard, chairman of Pre-certification Committee and the Additional Chief Electoral Officer, Ruokuovituo Khezhie has requested those political parties which had uploaded their advertisements e.g theme songs, campaigns songs etc., without pre-certification to immediately remove the contents from the platforms and submit to the committee for certification.
