Intl conference starts at NIT

IMPHAL, Feb 17 : The 2-day 1st International Conference on Sci/Tech and Engineering (ICSTE-23) began today at the complex of National Institute of Technology (NIT) at Lamphelpat.
NHIDCL, NIT Nagaland, NIT Arunachal Pradesh, MasterSoft, BRTF, NFR, Elsevier and Bank of Baroda are the sponsors of the conference.
The inaugural function was graced by Union Minister of State for Education and External Affairs Dr RK Ranjan Singh as chief guest. Managing Director of NHIDCL Chanchal Kumar, Director of NIT Nagaland Dr S Vengoupal and Director of NIT Manipur Prof Goutam Sutradhar also attended the programme.
At the function, Dr Ranjan said that the conference will provide an international forum for scientists, technocrats, student community, stakeholders and people from across the country to share knowledge and cutting-edge development in the field and promote research and development in science, engineering and technology.
He also said that science, engineering and technology are interconnected and interdependent fields that rely on each other to drive innovation and progress. The Union MoS also acknowledged the role of technology in the development of society.
