IMPHAL, Feb 20 : Chairperson of Manipur Human Rights Commission (MHRC) Justice UB Saha has said that he will accept all complaints lodged by citizens whose rights have been violated.
Today, the newly constructed office of MHRC was inaugurated at Palace Compound.
At the function, Justice UB Saha continued that the Commission will take up prompt actions to deliver justice to the victims of human right violation even if they submit the complaint in a plain paper.
Saying that MHRC was established to protect the rights of the people, Justice UB Saha added that he used to be Station in Charge of Gauhati High Court, Imphal earlier (2006-2008).
"We will start working from the foundation by consulting with the Commission member Kangjam Khogendra and impart the knowledge of basic human rights among the citizens," Justice UB Saha said and maintained that imparting the basic knowledge of human rights is very important as people will not lodge a complaint if they are not aware of it.
He also stated that he will inspect the police stations at various places and interact with organisations concerned.
