SAO seal title of 18th Sena Cup U-15 Boys Football Tournament

IMPHAL, Feb 25 : Hosts, Sena Athletes' Organisation (SAO) emerged champions of the 18th Sena Cup U-15 Boys Football Tournament held at Kakching Wairi Khujampat playground.
SAO won the title clash against Kakching Football Club by 2-1 goals to seal the top honour today.
It was a competitive start from both the ends but the hosts went into the break with a slender 1-0 margin with Md Jahir Khan's goal in the 31st minute. KFC fought back after the restart and drew level through S Amiscar in the 42nd minute.
The parity was however broken with M Ronaldo finding the target in the 52nd minute to help SAO retain the lead.
As KFC failed to staged a comeback, SAO went home 2-1 and laid their hands on the title trophy and a cash reward of Rs 50,000 donated by Dr Usham Deben Singh of Keirak Kangjeibung in memory of his father, (L) U Pakchao and mother, (L) U Tombi Devi.
Runners up, KFC were feted with a cash prize of Rs 30,000 and a momento donated by N Phanindro of Kakching Wairi Senapati Leikai in memory of his father (L) N Babuyaima and mother, N Ibecha Devi.
Other individual prize winners including highest scorer- L Bidyananda of KFC; best goalkeeper- Nongmaithem Baichung of JA; best defender- Th Aditya of YWU, Kakching; best midfielder- Naorem Leevash of SAO; best striker-Md Jahir of SAO; man of the final match- M Ronaldo of SAO and best player- Rishi Pukhrambam of SAO were also feted with cash prize of Rs 2,000 each along with mementoes.
Besides these, best manager- L Malemnganba of AIFA; best coach- Naorem Bikash of SAO and fair play team- SAO were also honoured and rewarded with cash prize of Rs 2,000 each.
