NSCN-IM warns against involvement in polls
DIMAPUR, Feb 26 : NSCN (I-M) has directed all its members and officials involved in election campaigns to refrain from taking part in the election process.
In a statement MIP, NSCN (I-M) disclosed that the attention of the collective leadership was drawn to reports that certain NSCN members were reportedly using the name of the collective leadership and authorities of the NSCN in the election campaigning to favour certain party candidates.
NSCN (I-M) said that in keeping with the decision to stay clear of the Indian election, it had directed all members/offi- cials involved in the election campaign to refrain from taking part in the election campaign/mobilization. MIP said those NSCN members involved have been warned of disciplinary action for violating the directive.
“NSCN members in particular and the public in general are hereby made known that there is no instruction or directive to the NSCN members to take part in the Nagaland State election campaign in favour of any individual/candidate and political party. If found doing so, they are doing it at their own individual capacity and risk,” MIP stated. Nagaland Post
