Women's swimming competition marks "International Women's Day"

IMPHAL, Mar 12 : Manipur Swimming Association successfully organised a women's swimming competition at Khuman Lampak Sports Complex today in connection with the "International Women's Day" celebration under the supervision of the Swimming Federation of India.
The event was also a part of the "Dus Ka Dum" initiative of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India.
In the U-11 yrs girls 100 freestyle event, Luchingbi Soubam finished first with a time of 1:22.36 as Panthoi Devi S (1:23.33) and S Chanchanbi (1:53.85) finished second and third respectively.
Panthoi Devi S however claimed the 50 m backstroke top place with a 42.94 seconds finish while Lunchingbi  S (44.38 s) and L Saiyonbi (58.47 s) finished second and third.
Panthoi also won top honours in the 50 breaststroke (49.67 s) and 50 m freestyle (36.51 s) as Lunchingbi took the 50 m butterfly stroke title taking 40.23 seconds.
In the U-12 to U-14 girls events, Gaitri Thoudam emerged first in 100 m freestyle (1:18.75), 50 m butterfly stroke (40.24 s) and 50 m freestyle (34.58 s), finished second in 50 m backstroke (41.65 s) and third in 50 m breaststroke events.
Meanwhile, Siddika H finished first in the 50 m backstroke with a time of 38.01 s and finished second in 50 m breaststroke (48.42 s) and 50 m freestyle (34.84 s).
H Freshini however topped the 50 m breaststroke event with a time of 44.64 seconds and secured third places in the 100 m freestyle, 50 m backstroke, 50 m butterfly and 50 m freestyle events.
Hatnunnem was able to claim top honours in the 50 m butterfly (41.98 s), 50 m breaststroke (46.54 s) and 50 m freestyle events for U-15 to U-17 year girls as L Jeshika won first place in 100 m freestyle with a time of 1:18.17 and 50 m backstroke with a time of 37.88 seconds.
Dekalu Th Pamei starred in the U-18 to U-25 years competitions finishing first in 100 m freestyle (1:16.66), 50 m backstroke (39.95 s), 50 m butterfly (41.36 s) and 50 m freestyle (34.27 s).
Malelda L was first in the 50 breaststroke with a time of 44.37 seconds as H Monalisa (48.36 s) and Dekalu Th Pamei (49.32 s) finished second and third.
