Journalists' Sports MeetThe Sangai Express retain football title, finish overall team runners up

IMPHAL, Mar 12 : The Sangai Express team finished overall runners up yet again in the 13th Journalists' Sports Meet organised by the All Manipur Working Journalists' Union (AMWJU) in line with the Yaoshang festival celebration.
The Sangai Express amassed as many as four gold medals and one silver medal to finish runners up as ISTV Network claimed the overall title with 7 gold, 10 silver and 5 bronze medals.
Th Kishan bagged two individual gold medals for The Sangai Express in shot put with a 10.84 m throw and 100 m race with a time of 12.40 seconds on the second day of the meet which was opened on March 7.
Thiyam Dinesh in the meantime bagged The Sangai Express' third gold medal in the men's chess event beating ISTV's Chongtham Aboy in the final on the third day.
On day 4, The Sangai Express ended their unbeaten run for five years and settled for a silver after losing by 6 wickets to Impact TV in the final. The team however produced an improved show and retained the football title with a 4-0 drubbing of Media Unified in the final yesterday.
