13 from Manipur win accolades in World Jeet Kune-do C'ship

IMPHAL, Mar 13 : At least 13 players from Manipur who represented India in the 2nd World Jeet Kune-do Championships at Kandy, Sri Lanka won medals.
A press release issued by Jeet Kune-do Association of Manipur said that 12 players from Manipur won gold medals in the championships while another clinched a silver medal.
The players who won gold medals are Singamayum Tajbanu in +19 yrs senior women's event (-60 kg LC), Moirangthem Linthoi Chanu won 2 gold medals in -19 yrs senior women's events (-50 kg LC and weapon), Amarjit Seram in  +19 yrs senior men's event (-55 kg LC), Samom Kenedy  Singh in +19 yrs senior male's event (-60 kg LC), Sinam Christy in -19 yrs senior  men's event (-60 kg LC), Teenison Arubam in -19 yrs senior men's event (-65 kg LC), Anushree Rajkumari in -17 yrs junior girl's event (-46 kg LC), Sinibas Irom in -14 yrs sub-juniors boys' event (-39 kg LC), Lanchenba N in -14 yrs sub junior boys' (-51 kg LC), Mercy Laishram in -10 yrs female children (-20 kg event ) and Bubusana N in -10 yrs male children (-24 kg event).
Laishram Dinesh Singh, on the other hand, won a silver medal in +19 yrs senior men's (-65 kg event).
According to the statement, Sri Lanka emerged champions while India finished second in the championships which was held from March 10 to 12.
