Birth anniversary of Takhellambam Bokul observed

The 116th birth anniversary of Takhellambam Bokul was observed at Meetei Shanglen, Wangkhei Thambalkhong yesterday organised by Meetei Marup, Meetei Leipak.
The birth anniversary observation was held in a humble manner starting with paying of floral tributes to the photo of this eminent personality who played a pivotal role in establishing Meetei Marup and to revive and promote Meetei community, said a statement. Eminent speakers namely Professor Dr Thangjam Ranjit of DMU; Irengbam Naba, Meetei Marup Vice-president and Maibam Tomba Khuman, Maichou Ningshing Lup vice-president spoke about the life history of Takhellambam Bokul and his significant contributions and struggle to promote Meetei community.
