IMPHAL, Mar 14 : YUCC Kwakeithel Moirangpurel overwhelmed PCC Mayai Koibi by 65 runs in today's league match of 2nd MNCA Superplate Tournament at Kongba Khunou Dhobi Lampak.
In the match, Ningthoujam Sanjit Singh of YUCC was given the man of the match title for his all-round performance . He hit 86 runs off 61 balls and clinched one wicket.
While batting, YUCC started poorly as their top order struggled to make runs until Sanjit Singh came out and did the magic for the Moirangpurel side, hitting 86 runs with a strike rate of 140.98. He got run out in 36.1 overs
The other high scorers of YUCC were Ningthoujam Rohit Singh (28 runs off 54 balls), Kadamjit Moirangthem (unbeaten 27 runs off 14 balls) and Ningthoujam Thoungamba Singh (unbeaten 27 off 63 balls).
YUCC set a target of 225 in the 40 over match.
Chingakham Ranjan Singh, Thokchom Anand Singh, Rohit Soubam and Mathurabashimayum Jobanta Sharma of PCC took one wicket each.
In the chase, PCC managed to accumulate only 159 runs as they lost all their wickets in the 38th over.
It was Thokchom Anand Singh (43 runs off 59 balls) and Chingakham Ranjan Singh (26 runs off 22 balls) who hit the maximum runs for PCC.
The wicket takers of the winning side, on the other hand, were Ningthoujam Sanjit Singh (1 wkt), N Rahulkumar (3 wkts), Devraj Nongthombam (1 wkt), Khundrakpam Punshiba Mangang (1 wkt), Shyam (1 wkt) and Kadamjit Moirangthem (2 wkts).
