MNCA : RULE, CHAMP triumph in Elite Cricket

IMPHAL, Mar 15 : RULE Malom and CHAMP Khagempalli emerged victorious in today's league matches of the 7th MNCA W Prahlada and W Ramananda Elite Tournament.
While RULE defeated Model Club Singjamei Chingamakha by 9 wickets at Luwangpokpa Cricket Stadium in  the first match of the day, CHAMP sealed a 2 wicket victory over TRAU Kwakeithel in the second at Public Ground, Khangabok Part III Cherapur.
The first match witnessed Model Club batting first and they managed to score a meagre  84 runs with eight wickets down in 28.1 overs. The target, however, was set at 68 runs as the game was shortened  to 20 over match after applying VJD method.
The Malom side did well while fielding with exceptional performance from  skipper Nongthombam Sarojkumar Singh who took 4 wickets with an economy of 2.43 while his team-mates  Nongthombam Denin Singh and Jay Singh dismissed two wickets each.
The Singjamei side hit only seven boundaries including one six in the entire innings and accumulated 84 runs in 28.1 overs, which, however, was reduced to 68 runs according to VJD method.
RULE completed the chase in 11.1 overs with a 68 runs partnership of Sanjenbam Suresh ( unbeaten 37 runs off 40 balls) and Jay Singh (unbeaten 22 runs off 26 balls).
N Sarojkumar of RULE won the man of the match title.
In the second match, CHAMP beat  TRAU by 2 wickets.
Fielding first, CHAMP bundled out TRAU for 140 in 27.5 overs and they completed the chase in 30 overs with 2 wickets in spare.
Priyojit Kangabam was the highest scorer of TRAU as he knocked 59 runs off 68 balls.
The wicket takers of the winning side, on the other hand, were Nitesh Sendai (4 wkts), Thingbaijam Nicholson Singh (2 wkts), Sunder Yumnam (2 wkts), Najarul Islam (1 wkt) and Md Sultan Karim (1 wkt).
CHAMP completed the chase in 30 overs with majority of the runs coming from Nitesh Sedai (unbeaten 48 runs off 48 balls), Leikhram Johny Singh (36 runs off 31 deliveries) and Thingbaijam Nicholson Singh (22 runs off 23 balls).
Anand Naorem of the losing side picked up 3 wickets in the innings while his compatriots Abdul Kashim (2 wkts), Amritakaran Singh Yumnam (1 wkt) and Priyojit Kangabam (1 wkt) took the other wickets.
Nitesh Sedai was declared man of the match.
