Chumbang CupUnapal, Mohring progress to next round

IMPHAL, Mar 16 : Unapal and Mohring have made it to the next round of the 2nd Chumbang Cup underway at Chumbang ground, Chandel.
While Unapal beat Lamkang Khunou 3-0 in the first match of the day, Mohring trounced Japhou 4-1 in the second.
With the wins, both Unapal and Mohring have progressed to the next round of the tournament
In the first match, Unapal scored all three goals in the second half.
The match saw an equal contest between the two sides initially as the first half ended without conceding any goal but Unapal came back stronger in the second half and opened their account in the 47th minute through Wanthankhup before Guru increased the lead to 2 in the 56th minute.
Denthar smashed home the final goal of the winning side in the 80th minute.
The second match was also one sided as Mohring overwhelmed Japhou 4-1.
Armstrong of Mohring scored a brace in the match (29', 62') but it was his team-mate Shingval who opened their account in the 25th minute. The other goal of Mohring was an own goal scored in the 27th minute.
The long goal of Japhou was scored by Bunghong in the 49th minute.
