Huge quantity of liquor seized from all over

IMPHAL, Mar 17 : A team of Imphal police and Imphal West commandos seized a large quantity of IMFL, beers and DIC liquor from different parts of Imphal West district in the last 24 hours.
Today, Imphal police carried out a drive at Nagamapal  and Khuyathong area and seized 102 bottles of whisky, 108 beer cans, 5 bottles of rum and 54 litres of local liquor.
The seized items have been handed over to the Excise Station at Lamphelpat.
Meanwhile, Singjamei police seized 120 bottles of whisky, 140 cans of beers, rum (70 bottles) and 205 litres of DIC liquor from Khagempalli Panthak, Singjamei Chingamakha and Canchipur areas.
In another drive taken out yesterday, Imphal West commandos raided a godown at Ghari Maning Leikai and seized a large number of IMFL and beer.
Sources said that the police raided the godown on receiving information about the storage of IMFL, beer and local liquor there.
The godown belongs to Leitanthem Dhananjoy (42), s/o (L) Ibobi of Kongba Laishram Leikai.
The liquor seized from the godown were 60 bottles of Old Monk (750 ml), 240 bottles of Old Monk (180 ml), 96 bottles of Royal Stag (180 ml), 240 cans of Turborg (500 ml) and 600 cans of Kingfisher (500 ml).
The godown owner was also arrested.
All the seized liquor have been handed over to Excise Station, Lamphelpat.
Imphal West commandos also raided Emoinu Juice Shop at Khuyathong and seized over 50 bottles of liquor and 23 cans of beer.
During the search, they detained the salesman of the shop identified as Bishal Thapa (23), s/o Kumar Thapa of Kangpokpi IT Road.
The seized liquors include 40 bottles of McDowell's (180 ml), three bottles of McDowell's Original (180 ml), three bottles of Contessa XXX (750 ml), two bottles of Royal Stag (750 ml), two bottles of McDowell's (750 ml), two bottles of Kusum wine (750 ml), four cans of Tuborg (500 ml), four cans of Kingfisher (500 ml), six cans of Chang beer (500 ml), seven cans of Dagon beers (500 ml) and 2 cans of Old Monk (500 ml).
The seized items have been handed over to the Excise Department, Lamphelpat.
