VPs elected unopposed, claims MPP prez

IMPHAL, Mar 17: MPP president Chingakham Shyamjai has claimed that the party has elected four vice-presidents, nine working committee members and two members of the disciplinary committee, all unopposed.    
As per the MPP’s election schedule, scrutiny of nomination papers was done on March 7 and the candidates were declared elected unopposed on March 13.
MPP State Returning Officer M Sarat today said that  Yengkokpam Priyokumar Singh, Chingsubam Joykumar Angom, Moirangthem Narendra and CS Khongsai have been elected as vice-presidents.
Dr Sorokhaibam Ibomcha Singh, Soirengsangbam Brojen Singh, Dr K Muktasana, Chingakham Meghachandra Singh, Thangjam Lamkeshwar, MK Allaudin, Thangjam Rojenkumar Singh, RK Joychandra Singh and Khaidem Ingocha Meitei have been elected as members of the working committee, Sarat said.
He further informed that E Jibon and Athokpam Ramananda have also been elected as members of the disciplinary committee.
Speaking to media persons at their Pologround office today, MPP president Chingakham Shyamjai said that MPP, established on December 26, 1968, is one of the oldest regional parties in India.
He said that MPP would field its candidates both in Inner and Outer Parliamentary Constituencies in the next Lok Sabha election.
He decried that some elements have been creating disturbances to the party from outside every now and then.
He appealed to all concerned to stop portraying the MPP in the wrong light.
He then invited all former members of the party to come back.
He also appealed to all concerned to withdraw litigations filed in Courts.
