WYC beat TCMDC for first win in 2nd Superplate tourney

IMPHAL,  Mar 17 : WYC-Thoubal Wangkhem opened their winning account with an 11 run victory over TCMDC-Thongju Part II Pechu Lampak in a Group A match of the ongoing 2nd MNCA Superplate Tournament at Kongba Khunou Dhobi Lampak.
WYC racked up a lowly total of 119 runs for 9 in allotted 20 overs after putting in to bat first but it proved a big target for TCMDC as they succumbed at 108 runs in 195 overs.
Borish Khomdram emerged the highest run getter for WYC scoring 28 runs as Wangkhem Laksmon (22), S Herokumar (16) and Thoudam Rohit (11 not out) followed suit.
Suraj Kharibam of TCMDC picked three wickets in this innings as his compatriots Kongbrailatpam Kalyan Sharma and Thongam Nganthoi Singh claimed two wickets each.
Even as the target was not big and Sarangthem Priyobarta struck a 39-ball 40, TCMDC failed to keep up the strike rate and were all out at 108 runs as Tayenjam Tomba enjoyed a four wicket haul (4/16 in 4 overs) and Borish Khomdram and Wangkhem Laksmon claimed two wickets each to apply pressure.
Tayenjam Tomba who bowled his team to a crucial win was adjudged man of the match.
