World Jeet Kune-Do Championship medallists feted

MOIRANG, Mar 17 : 11 athletes who brought home 9 gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze medals from the 2nd World Jeet Kune-Do Championship held in Kandy, Sri Lanka were felicitated during a small programme held today at Kakyai Tona Kangjeibung under Nambol Assembly Constituency.
The felicitation programme was jointly organised by Kakyai Mayai Youth Development Club and Jeet Kune-Do Association Bishnupur District.
Faheem Ahamad, National Minority Morcha In-Charge, Jammu and Kashmir;  PK Naik, DIG CRPF Langjing; Dr Kh Tomba Singh, Managing Director, Maipakpi Hospital Imphal, Dr Ashangbam Vivekananda, Director SLR Diagnostic Centre; H Rabikanta Meitei, Zonal Railway Users Consultative Committee; Th Surjit Singh, Member Quality Council of India, RK Bimolchandra Singh, BJP Imphal Central District; P  Nilamani Singh, President Kakyai Mayai Youth Development Club; H Manaobi Mangang, Founder Jeet Kune Do Bishnupur District and Nandalal Angomcha, social worker as presidium members.
Speaking at the event, Faheem Ahmad lauded Manipur athletes' continuous exemplary performances to make India proud.
He also noted that the present Central Government is very keen in promoting sports. Maintaining that PM Narendra Modi is very enthusiastic and supportive to the country's athletes, he also added that all efforts are underway to ensure meritorious players are provided jobs.
