Drive against illegal structures on paddy land carried out

THOUBAL, Mar 17 : As part of the steps taken up to save paddy lands in the district, a team of SDO Thoubal and Thoubal Police today carried out a drive against illegal constructions on paddy land under the "Manipur Conservation of Paddy land and Wetland Act, 2014" at areas near Wangjing Khabakhong in Thoubal district and Khangabok.
Speaking to media persons, SDO Thoubal, M Ranjita stated that under the "Manipur Conservation of Paddy land and Wetland Act, 2014" it is illegal to construct any structure in paddy lands without the permit of the Government.
"If any illegal structure/building is found in paddy lands, legal owners would be taken up against the owners", he added.
It may be mentioned that during the drive, the team recovered various construction items from illegal structures found in paddy lands.
