KCC cruise to 3rd straight win in 2nd MNCA Superplate Tournament

IMPHAL, Mar 18 : KCC, Kongba posted their third Group B win on the trot in the 2nd MNCA Superplate Tournament with a 21 run victory over ESU, Wangkhei Palace Compound at Kongba Khunou Dhobi Lampak, Imphal East.
KCC racked up a moderate total of 222 runs for 7 wickets in 38 overs riding on a half century by Nameirakpam Arbin (44-ball 52) and sensible knocks from Keisham Mranojit (30), Nongmaithem Dijaraj (38) and Wahengbam Somorjit (33) and bowled out ESU for 201 runs in 36 overs riding on Yumnam Sheiteendra's four wicket haul (4/46).
Chongtham Mehul Shreth (2/45) and Sanatomba (2/37) led the bowling attack for ESU in KCC's innings before they fell to 201 runs total.
ESU sloppy start to their chase but Thokchom Nishikanta (54) and Oliver (61) made them feel safe midway both hitting half centuries before faltering again towards the end.
Kisan Singh Wahengbam of KCC also enjoyed a two wicket haul (2/40) as Keisham Basantakumar, Wahengbam Somorjit and Kongbrailatpam Sanjit Sharma picked up a wicket each.
Wahengbam Somorjit who scored 33 runs and picked a wicket bagged the man of the match accolade.
PTCC-Patsoi will play KSDO-Kyamgei in the next match (Group A) tomorrow.
