Sensitization programme on crime against women through social media organised

IMPHAL, Mar 18: SDO of Imphal East, Pooja Elangbam IAS, expressed that gender equality should be discussed to bring developmental solutions.
She made the above statement while speaking as the chief guest at the sensitisation programme on crime against women through social media today at TS Paul Manipur Women's College, Mongshangei in Imphal West district.
The programme was organised by the NSS Unit I, Women's Cell, Grievance Cell under the aegis of Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of the College.
With regards to gender equality in the State, Pooja Elangbam elaborated on the restrictions and biases faced by young girls and women of the State.
She maintained that equality should begin from home and awareness should be raised on gender equality among the masses to bring the desired change.
Despite the various limitations, considerable progress has been made in various sectors enhancing the status of women which  should be welcomed by all, she added.
Additional SP, Investigative Unit for Crime Against Women, Imphal West district, Rattana Ngasepam MPS spoke on crime against women through social media.
