IMPHAL, Mar 18 : TRAU-Kwakeithel ended CYCLONE-Thangmeiband's 7 game winning run in the ongoing 7th MNCA W Prahlada and W Ramananda Elite Tournament with a 5 wicket win today at Luwangpokpa Cricket Stadium.
It was the 5th win for the Kwakeithel team in as many as 8 matches.
TRAU held CYCLONE to 195 runs for 8 in 40 overs after electing to field first and chase down the target in 38.4 overs with 5 wickets left to spare.
Kabrambam Homendro hit an unbeaten 45-ball 52 late on for CYCLONE after a slow start to ensure the team closed on to the 200-run mark. Kishan Laishram (25) and Bikash Singh (39) also batted well in this innings which saw Anand Naorem clinching three wickets (3/29 in 5 overs) and Thounaojam Rishikanta pick two wickets (2/37 in 8 overs).
Priyojit Kangabam, Dr Siddharth Shah and Abdul Kasim also bagged a wicket each.
In reply, openers Karnajit Yumnam (67 off 89 balls) and Pukhrambam Prafullomani (61 off 79 deliveries) provided initial flourish by stitching a first wicket partnership of 135 runs in 27.1 overs.
Priyojit Kangabam also added 38 runs before Dr Siddharth Shah hit Kabrambam Homendro for a four on the way to his unbeaten 21 to take TRAU to winning 198 in the fourth delivery of the 39th over.
Bikash Singh, and Loktongbam Santosh of CYCLONE picked up two wickets each in this innings.
Karnajit Yumnam of TRAU who topscored for TRAU was adjudged man of the match.
At Model Hr Secondary and Oriental College Ground, CHAMP cruised to 6th win in 7 matches with a 102 run victory over Model  Club, Chingamakha.
CHAMP who opted to bat first were bundled out for a lowly total of 215 runs in 37.2 overs but defended their total well by bowling out Model Club for 113 within 33.4 overs thanks to concerted bowling efforts.
Thingbaijam Nicholson starred with a 47-ball 59 hitting 4 fours and 4 sixes for CHAMP in their innings which also saw  Robertson (3/58 in 8 overs), Dibak Naorem (2/22 in 8 overs) and Langlonyamba M (3/36 in 8 overs) of Model producing exceptional bowling performances. Narsingh Yadav (30) and Nitesh Sedai (41) also contributed well in CHAMP's innings.
In the chase, Model Club faltered badly and slumped to 113 all out as CHAMP bowlers were very economical and put in a concerted effort. Md Sultan Karim, Nitesh Sedai, Lairenjam Ansh and Thingbaijam Nicholson of CHAMP claimed two wickets each to slow down the chase as Md Ahsanul Kabir and Najarul Islam shared a wicket each.
Nicholon who produced an all-round performance, was adjudged man of the match.
Meanwhile at Khangabok Part III Cherapur Public Ground, MPSC overwhelmed Blue Hawk by 9 wickets for their third win in 9 matches. It was also the 8th straight loss for Blue Hawk.
After opting to bat first, Blue Hawk fell to 66 all out in 19.1 overs as Maibam Bijoykumar (4/24) and Indraban S Koijam (4/13) of MPSC devastated their batting line up.
Ngangom Sudesh (24 not out) and Potsangbam Bonem (6 not out) then handed MPSC the easy win in just 13.1 overs after Sagolshem Sunil (30) holed out to Mintu Chandra off the bowling of Samsung Heisnam in the 12th over.
Indraban S Koijam of MPSC who led the bowling attack earned the man of the match accolade.
