As a part of Integrated Delivery of Legal Services (IDLS-DISHA Schemes), District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Chandel in collaboration with Legal Aid Clinic Nungourok organised a Women Oriented Legal Awareness programme on the topics, "Women & Law - Ensuring Social-Economic Upliftment of Women in a Society" and "Tele Law Legal Services" at All Tribal Women Organisation (ATWO) Office, Nungourok village.
The programme was chaired by Moikham Ronglo, secretary ATWO accompanied by Jacky Lucy, Retainer Lawyer, DLSA Chandel and JS Chamdil Anal, Panel Lawyer, DLSA Chandel as resource persons, said a release issued by DLSA Chandel.
At the event, JS Chamdil Anal delivered a lecture on "Tele Law Legal Services" and explained the benefits of the scheme.
He highlighted the easy availability of the Tele Law app on various platforms for both Android & IOS users and how it can help a beneficiary to avail Free Legal Aid and Services through the app.
The participants were also assisted in downloading and registering the app.
Jacky Lucy elaborated on the topic "Women and Law" and added that it is a must for a woman to know her rights in a society.
She also encouraged the participants to be self-dependent, both socially and economically which will help in effective elimination of Gender inequality or Gender-based violence in a society.
Later, an interactive session with the participants was also conducted.
It was participated by women leaders, executive women members of local CSOs and girl students.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks and a closing prayer by Moikham Ronglo, secretary ATWO.
