Probe ordered into KSO affairs

The office of the Registrar of Societies has instituted an enquiry to investigate the affairs of the Kuki Students’ Organisation (KSO) under Section 22 of the Manipur Societies Registration Act, 1989.
Registrar of Societies Arambam Valentina issued an order to this effect on March 15.
Deputy Registrar of Societies, Imphal East T Somokanta Singh has been appointed as the enquiry officer and he should submit his report within 10 days.
The KSO was registered under Manipur Societies Registration Act 1989 on December 29, 1979 with its office address at Gihon Villa, New Lambulane, Imphal.
According to records available at the office of the Registrar of Societies, Manipur, KSO has not submitted annual reports, balance sheets, auditor’s reports etc for the last 43 years even though these documents should be submitted as per different sections of the Manipur Societies Registration Act 1989.
Moreover, the KSO was found involved in unlawful act, mentioned the order.
