THOUBAL, Mar 21 : Three persons who were arrested on the charge of setting forest fire at Kangla Ching located in Tentha have been sent to judicial custody till April 4.
The three have been identified as Ningshen Moshang (52), S/o Late Ng Thanni, Shinglai Reishangsing (27), S/o S Wungshungmi and Shimphrui Thotchan (26), S/o Late Sh Tamashing, all from Mumlo Ringpam Village, Machi Block, Tengnoupal district.
It may be noted that they had allegedly set Kangla Ching, under Thoubal Forest Division, on fire at noon on March 14.
The fire was brought under control and put out using fire tenders in the evening at around 5.
During a search operation conducted on the day, the three persons were arrested by a combined team of Thoubal Forest Range and Khongjom Police personnel.
After their arrest, they were produced before the Court of the Chief judicial Magistrate Thoubal on March 15 and sent to 6 days police custody.
They were produced before the same Court today after completion of their police custody period.
