Gold biscuits seized

MOREH, Mar 30: Altogether 10 gold biscuits were seized by troops of 20th Assam Rifles at around 11 am today.
On checking and frisking a two-wheeler (scooty) rider at Sibong Khudengthabi along Imphal-Moreh highway, the troops recovered 10 gold biscuits concealed inside the rider’s shoes.
Following the recovery of the 10 gold biscuits which weighed 1.660 Kg, the smuggler identified as Lenjamang Lhungdim (28) s/o Sh Ngamshei Lhungdim of Moreh Ward No 8, Ngamkhai Veng was arrested.
The market value of the seized gold is said to be around Rs one crore.
Later Lenjamang Lhungdim was handed over to Customs Preventive Force, Moreh along with the recovered gold biscuits.
