Huidrom Bhumeshwory in Indian team for 16th Asian Cross Country C'ship

IMPHAL, Mar 3 : Huidrom Bhumeshwory will be representing India in the 16th Asian Cross Country Championship beginning March 5 in Kathmandu, Nepal.
H Bhumeshwory, daughter of Late H Basanta and H (ongbi) Mangi Devi of Huidrom Awang Leikai, is a part of the 21 member Indian team including 5 officials.
The 1500 m race gold medallist at the 4th Khelo India Youth Games held last year in June in Haryana is expected to give her best at the continental event and do the Nation proud.
The 19 year old, who joined SAI on May 29, 2017 and trained under RCC Coach Somchandra, had also won various medals in the National level athletic events including bronze medals at the 2nd Khelo India University Games-2022 (1500 m); 30th East Zone Junior Athletic C'ship-2018 (800 m), 31st East Zone Junior Athletic C'ship-2019 and a silver in the 32nd  East Zone Junior Athletic C'ship-2022 besides topping and winning gold medals at State level events from 2017.
Bhumeshwory, who completed her 10th class from Lamjing Meira Shindam Shang, Pourabi and cleared Higher Secondary Leaving Certificate Examination from Lamlai Higher Secondary School, is pursuing her graduation at Biramangol College, Sawombung while undertaking training under Kailas Balasaheb Kasar at SAI NCOE Imphal at the same time.
