IMPHAL, Mar 3 : RD & PR Minister Y Khemchand has said that the National electronic Fund Management System (NeFMS) is to be implemented in the State only after eFMS is fully implemented along with complete utilisation of  all wage's fund in the State Nodal Account.
The Minister was responding to a query raised by Opposition MLA Okram Surjakumar on the floor of the State Assembly, today.
The Minister continued that the expected amount receivable under MGNREGS for 100 days for 2020-21 is Rs 1301.86 crore; 1398.07 crore for 2021-22 and 1498.47 crore for 2022-23 .
Saying that implementation of eFMS was stalled  in 34 Blocks due to Court case which was vacated by the Supreme Court on September 26, 2022, Khemchand continued that the Ministry of Rural Development will approve implementation of NeFMS in the State once Rs 756.49 crore released by the Ministry is exhausted.
As a supplementary question,  Surjakumar said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has made a statement about transferring the funds of welfare schemes to the bank account of beneficiaries directly.
He also said that there are 5.81 lakh job card  holders in Manipur and as such the sum which can be taken from the Centre for wages and material components would be large.
Saying that the Chief Minister had also assured of releasing the pending wages of job card holders soon, Surjakumar appealed to the RD & PR Minister to look into the matter.
Responding to the MLA, Y Khemchand said that he has no knowledge of the matter raised by the Opposition MLA but added it is an automatic process.
He nonetheless said that the Government would release the pending wages of MGNREGS one after another.
