Audience choice award for Eikhoigi Yum

IMPHAL, Apr 17 : Romi Meitei's highly acclaimed film Eikhoigi Yum (Our Home) has bagged the Audience Choice Award for the Best Narrative Feature at the 8th Indie Meme Film Festival 2024 held at Austin city, USA.
Eikhoigi Yum was honoured with the Audience Choice Award out of 35 South Asian films at the festival held from April 12 to 16.
The film carries the message of safeguarding the environment in the face of increasing pace of globalization.
It is worth noting that in the past Romi Meitei's Eikhoigi Yum has been honoured with the FIPRESCI Award for Best International Film as well as Best Feature Film award at the 14th Manipur State Film Awards 2022 along with five other awards. The cast of the film includes Ningthoujam Priyojit, Bhumeshore, Sorri Senjam and Nganthoibi with Debajit Gayan as the sound designer, Johny and Bikram as cinematographer; Demba Meitei as production designer and Sheetal Chingsubam and Romi Meitei taking the helm as producer under the banner of Thangarakpa Living Frames. The film has also been officially selected to be screened at the 45th Moscow International Film Festival set to begin from April 22.
