IMPHAL, May 25: Altogether 250 youths of Heirok have pledged support to the stance adopted by MLA and PDA Chairman Lourembam Rameshwor in the face of the growing threat to the integrity of Manipur and the sanctity of its territorial boundary.
Around 250 youths of Heirok came out to the streets and shouted slogans like “Hail, MLA Lourembam Rameshwor”, “We support MLA L Rameshwor” etc.
Rameshwor earlier said that there are more than 1000 youths in his (Keirao) Constituency who are as brave as Chinglensana and they would work collectively to protect the integrity and boundary of Manipur. The position adopted by MLA L Rameshwor is not against any community but it is aimed at protecting the integrity of Manipur which has a glorious history spanning over thousands of years, they maintained.
“As such, we decided to support the Keirao MLA’s stance”, said the youth from Heirok.
Meanwhile, the Kyamgei Youth Pioneer Club (KYPC) has stated that there are many volunteers of the club who support MLA Lourembam Rameshwor’s stance and follow his leadership. Speaking to media persons at KYPC office today, its advisor Samram Santa said that all the people of Keirao AC support the decision adopted by Rameshwor to protect the integrity of Manipur. Although a large number of Central security forces have been flown into the State to control the ethnic violence, many Meitei villages located at the fringes and foothills are being attacked and raided by armed Kukis, Santa said. He then urged the BJP MLAs to translate the party’s slogan ‘Nation first, party second’ into action.
