IMPHAL, May 25 : Asserting that the Central security forces have been abetting Kuki militants to shoot, kill and oppress Meitei villagers, women vendors of Khwairamband Keithel have questioned the silence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Women vendors of Khwairamband Keithel staged a sin-in-protest at the premises of Lainingthou Amudon, Uripok Sinam Leikai today.
Speaking to media persons at the protest site, one woman vendor asked as to why the Government of India is determined to eliminate the Meitei community.
The Prime Minister should spell out the reasons why the Government of India is intent upon alienating the Meitei people, she said.
According to reports received from Kadangband, Kuki militants have the barrels of their guns tied with red ribbons and these red ribbons help the Indian army identify Kuki militants, she alleged.
There are also reports of the Indian Army training cadres of the PDF at Pallel after they fled from the Myanmar military junta. The Indian Army is supporting the PDF, she said.
She then questioned the Prime Minister why the Government of India is supporting the PDF and victimising the Meitei community.
She also questioned the Government of India’s inaction when a large number of militants belonging to SoO groups are roaming around freely with arms and indulging in an ethnic cleansing campaign.
The Prime Minister should bring a solution before he addresses the Nation through the next episode of Mann Ki Baat, the woman said.
