Protest staged against gun attack

IMPHAL, May 25 : Denouncing last night's gun attack by unknown miscreants at the residence of one Huyam Chitaranjan s/o H Kunjababy in Thangmeiband Hijam Dewan Leikai under City Police, Meira Paibis and residents of Thangmeiband Hijam Dewan Leikai today jointly staged a sit-in protest at Thangmeiband Youth Centre.
Speaking on the sidelines of the protest, Konsam Lata, president Meira Paibi, condemned the gun attack carried out last night at the residence of Huyam Chitaranjan and urged all involved in the incident to step forward and issue a clarification at the earliest.
Placards with slogans such as, "We condemn gun attacks in residential areas", "Arrest the culprits", "Clarify the reason for shooting", etc were displayed at the protest.
