IMPHAL, May 25: The NSCN (IM) has decried that one Kom village, Kangathei was attacked by Kuki militants and the villagers were forced to vacate their village.
A statement issued by NSCN (IM), while asserting that Aimol, Chiru, Chothe, Kharam, Koireng and Kom are part of the Naga community and have been actively involved in the Nagas’ political struggle, has stated that such vicious violence will only aggravate the situation and this must be put to stop forthwith for the sake of humanity and peaceful coexistence.
“Our Meitei brothers and Kukis should not take them otherwise and harass them in any manner”, NSCN(IM) said. The ongoing violence between the two communities - Meiteis and the Kukis is something very detestable and the attack on villages is very inhuman, it said.
