Kakching CSOs resolve to organise mass rally on May 27

KAKCHING, May 25: A general body meeting of Kakching district civil society organisations has resolved to hold a mass rally on May 27 at Kakching along with submission of a memorandum to Prime Minister Narendra Modi through Kakching DC listing their charter of demands.
The meeting organised by District Level Committee for Rejuvenating Co-existence, HO Kakching was held at the Library and Information Centre, Kakching to discuss various prominent issues of the day namely, abrogation of SoO pact with Kuki militants, restoration of peace, settlement of displaced persons and the protection and preservation of integrity of Manipur.
During the course of the meeting, representatives of villagers located close to Kuki villages under Kakching district narrated accounts of the prevailing condition at their homes while CSO leaders presented their point of view regarding the current crisis.
Aside from this, the gathering also arrived at seven resolutions, including, to stand united in order to protect the integrity of Manipur, to call upon the Central and State Government to drive out illegal immigrants from Myanmar including Kuki militants, abrogation of SoO pact with Kuki militants, to challenge the fifty MLAs to declare their stance on the prevailing situation and restoration of normalcy and distribution of compensation to the victims of violence by June 5 etc.
The meeting was presided over by Yengkhom Bheigyachandra, president, District Level Committee for Rejuvenating Co-existence and its two working presidents Naorem Sanjitkumar and M Sarat.
