Thoubal, May 25: Kakching MLA M Rameshwar has appealed to the Central Government to ensure that the Central paramilitary forces deployed under Article 355 adopt a "neutral administration" in carrying out their duties and see beyond ethnic lines.
The MLA made the statement while speaking to media persons after taking part in a meeting at Grace Cottage Academy with the Peace Committee Kakching which was formed by Kakching CSOs, clubs and the Kakching MLA.
Speaking to media persons, MLA M Rameshwar stated that the meeting was organised to give an ear to the public of Kakching at a time when the situation in Manipur has not seen any improvemnt even after imposition of Article 355.
He opined that the fifty MLAs must unite and hold an audience with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah and arrive at a long term solution for the present conflict. He then called upon the Indian Govt to make sure that the Central paramilitary forces are not prejudiced in carrying out their duties in various regions of the State and to carry out this work without any emphasis on ethnicity.
The MLA strongly asserted that he along with the public of Kakching district are ready to sacrifice their lives to protect Manipur.
