Relief materials distributed

SPI/THB, Jun 22 : As the people of Manipur continue to face challenges and struggles from the ongoing conflict, the Emmanuel Hospital Association (EHA), New Delhi in collaboration with Green Hills Society (GHS), Senapati District Manipur, today visited the victims of the conflict and contributed basic essential commodities/items including rice, dal, potato, onion, sugar, salt, nutrela soya, garlic and sanitary pads as humanitarian aid.
The contribution was made towards various relief camps based in Hengbung village, Changoubung village and District Level Relief Committee, Manipur.
“The motivation of sharing is to stand with the poor, especially the internally displaced peoples (IDPs) and share human responsibility during these difficult times,” said Joyson Tao, President, Green Hills Society. He also believed that “while the contribution, however little, may bring hope and help those affected by the prevailing crisis in Manipur.”
In this regard, the victims at various camps while expressing their gratitude to the Emmanuel Hospital Association (EHA) and Green Hills Society (GHS) also shared their grief and pain from the death and sufferings of their family, relatives, neighbours and innocent people from all sections of the society. The coordinators of the relief camp extended their sincere gratitude to both the organisations for their support and encouragement.
Separately, Integrated Rural Development Agency (IRDA) Hangul and REACH-M under the supervision of ActionAid Association Guwahati extended aid to the inmates of the relief centre set up at Pioneer Club office in Wangjing Hodamba Maning Leikai of Thoubal district.
It may be noted that the relief materials consisted of 17 items including essential items for women and children.
Speaking in this connection, Md Rayajuddin, secretary, IRDA Hangul urged the Central and State Government to bring a resolution to the ongoing conflict and questioned how long they intend to watch the people suffer.
Yelhung Halpu Chothe, Psycho Service Care Giver of Action Aid Association and M Moses Maring, secretary, REACH-M were also present at the aid extension initiative.
