HWC Kiyam Litanpok inaugurated

THOUBAL, Jul 5: Wangkhem Assembly Constituency MLA K Meghachandra Singh inaugurated a newly constructed Health and Wellness Centre at Kiyam Litanpok under Thoubal district today.
It may be noted that the Centre was built under Pradhan Mantri Jan Vikas Karyakram (PMJVK)/ Multi-Sectoral Development Programme (MsDP) Scheme of the Ministry of Minority Affairs and cost around Rs 50 lakhs.
The inaugural ceremony was attended by MLA K Meghachandra  Singh as the chief guest; CMO Thoubal Dr Y Nokul Singh as the functional president; Dr Ruhana Shahani, MO of HWC Kiyam Litanpok and Thingujam Sangeeta, Councilor, TMC Ward No 14 as the guests of honour.
Speaking as the chief guest, K Meghachandra stated that people are facing a lot of difficulties in travelling to health centres/hospitals when faced with illnesses as a result of the unstable condition in the State.
Stating that the HWC Kiyam Litanpokpi will provide a lot of benefits to the people even beyond the conflict, he further shared that aside from the traditional forms of treatment via medicines, the Centre will also provide facilities for Yoga-based treatments.
He also recalled that in the past HWC Kiyam Litanpokpi used to exist as a sub-centre attached to CHC Yairipok.
But in order to ensure that people get more benefits from this Centre, it was split and shifted to a brand new building.
He expressed hope that the people will take advantage of the facilities provide at the HWC.
