No Anglo-Kuki war : Licypriya quoting MHA

IMPHAL, Aug 4 : Young climate activist Licypriya Kangujam has claimed that there is no such incident as Anglo-Kuki war in history and the same has been verified by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA).
In her social media page, Licypriya said that she filed an RTI under RTI Act 2005 seeking information on the 'fake' Anglo-Kuki War from the Government on June 17, 2023. She claimed that the MHA had replied to her application yesterday.
Claiming that there are only 62 freedom fighters from Manipur who fought against the British as per Govt records who recieved pension from the Ministry, Licypriya alleged that of the 62 freedom fighters only four are Kukis and their names are Haozathang, Let-sei Kuki, Letkhothang Lhan- gum and Lunkhoson Kuki.
About the Anglo-Kuki War including the place and period of the incident, the MHA responded that no information is available.
