"Sanabunggi Paodam" unveiled as AMSA commemorates foundation day

IMPHAL, Sep 12 : A book called "Sanabunggi Paodam" was released to the public as the All Manipur Sports Association (AMSA) commemorated its foundation day at Mapal Kangjeibung office of the association.
The book was penned by vice president of the All Manipur Sports Association, Seram Lokeshwar.
The commemoration programme cum book release function was attended by association president, Laishram Lokendra; vice presidents, Kh Khelendra, Seram Lokeshwar; treasurer, W Sushilkumar;  AMFA president M Ratankumar and All Manipur Volleyball Association president Ng Inaocha as presidium members.
The programme formally kicked off with AMSA president unfurling the association's flag before the book was released.
The 300-page book containing 27 articles written in both Bengali script and Meitei Mayek was introduced to the gathering by Saratchand Thiyam, former PHED Engineer and noted columnist.
Speaking at the occasion, president of AMSA L Lokendra lauded the vice president and author, Lokeshwar for presenting the book.
The book reflects the firm determination of Lokeshwar to document the 70-year long journey and activities undertaken by the association. The younger generation will now be able to know a lot about the association and its activities, development of sports in the State, he said.
Noting the insistence of the association treasurer W Sushilkumar  on Lokeshwar to publish such a noteworthy book, Lokendra also said that the author had solely funded his publication despite the association proposal for assistance to his work.
He also encouraged documentation of other spheres of the sporting movement in the State the newly released book had not covered.
