AMFA greets State women footballers, officials named in National Senior and U-17 teams

IMPHAL, Sep 15 : The All Manipur Football Association (AMFA) has congratulated and extended best wishes to the State players and officials who have been announced in the National team for the Asian Games women football and AFC U-17 Women's Championship Qualifiers (Round 2).
Notably, 7 State players made it to the Indian women's squad for the Asian Games football due to be held from September 19 to October 7 in Hangzhou, China.
The players include goalkeeper-Elangbam Panthoi; defenders- Loitongbam Ashalata and Ngangbam Sweety; midfielders- Naorem Priyangka Devi, Dangmei Grace and Sorokhaibam Ranjana Chanu and forward-Ngangom Bala Devi.
Lourembam Ronibala Chanu is also named among the officials as goalkeeper coach.
The AMFA has also greeted the 7 State U-17 players who were named in the final squad for the U-17 Women's Championship Qualifiers (Round 2) and will be travelling to Thailand from September 19 to 24 for the qualifying round matches.
The players are Khambi Chanu Sarangthem, Thoisana Chanu Toijam, Sonibia Devi Irom, Menaka Devi Lourembam, Sibani Devi Nongmeikapam, Remi Thokchom, Anju Chanu Kayenpaibam.
As per a memorandum issued in this regard by the AMFA, Tababi Devi Thongram is leading the team as head of the delegation.
