Hands-on training programme concludes

IMPHAL, Sep 16 : The 6-days long hands-on training programme on "Processing and Quality Control in Food Processing Industries" which began on September 11 concluded today at Central Farm, Central Agricultural University (CAU), Lamphelpat, Imphal.
The training programme was organised by the College of Food Technology, CAU, Imphal in collaboration with the Department of Horticulture & Soil Conservation, Government of Manipur.
The valedictory function was attended by Director of Extension Education, Cau Imphal, Prof Ph Ranjit Sharma; Project Coordinator Manipur SFAC & former Joint Director, Agriculture, MS Khaidem; Dean, College of Food Technology, CAU Imphal, Prof Ng Iboyaima Singh and Director of Instruction, CAU Imphal, Dr S Basanta Singh as presidium members.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr S Basanta shared that entrepreneurship is the only option for youths as it is impossible for the Government to give jobs to everyone.
"Entrepreneurs are not job seekers, they are job giver", said Dr S Basanta while exhorting youths to become entrepreneurs in food processing, which is a blooming sector with the changing lifestyle and food habits of people.
He also advised the entrepreneurs to utilise various locally found raw materials and ensure quality products are made available to the public at a reasonable price.
Later, course completion certificates were distributed to all the trainees.
