SAI-NERC celebrates 37th foundation day

Sports Authority of India, North East Regional Centre (SAI-NERC) has celebrated its 37th foundation today at its Takyel premises. The centre was established on this day in 1986.
Dronacharya award recipient, L Ibomcha who is also the Deputy Director in-charge of SAI-STC; Assistant Director, Laijing L Maring; Centre in-charge of NCOE Imphal, T Nilamani who is the in-charge of Sports Science Division and STC Utlou attended the function as presidium members, said a release issued by SAI NERC.
Floral tributes were also paid to Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, in whose honour the centre is christened as Netaji Subhas North East Regional Centre, it said.
The gathering was further enriched with eloquent speeches from the dignitaries and coaches reflecting on the illustrious 37-year journey of SAI-NERC, Imphal and its contributions to India's sporting legacy, it added.
