IMPHAL, Sep 18 : Many continue to extend humanitarian aid to the people who have been affected by the present conflict in the State.
Students of CC Higher Secondary School 1994-96 Batch have provided relief materials and monetary aid to the volunteers who are camping at various places to defend Meitei villages from the attacks of Kuki militants.
Speaking to the media, Khundrakpam Romesh, representative of CC Higher Secondary School 1994-96 Batch, informed that they visited the volunteers who are staying at Koutruk in Imphal West district, Tronglaobi and Phubala in Bishnupur district and provided relief materials & monetary aid as a mark of encouragement and support.
He expressed concern over the present conflict which has caused many casualties and left thousands of people displaced across the State.
He also appealed to the State and Central Government to make a concerted effort to find a last solution and restore peace & normalcy in Manipur.
Moreover, Chingmeirong Apunba Lup (CAL) yesterday provided monetary aid of Rs 30,000 to the Village Protection Committee of Naranseina to help the people affected by the present conflict.
The monetary aid was provided with the contributions made by members of CAL.
Besides, in line with the second death anniversary observation of Trinity Public School Mongsangei founder & former principal Moirangthem Inaotombi, the Moirangthem Inaotombi Memorial Trust yesterday distributed stationery items including school bags, exercise books, pen, ect to the displaced students taking shelter at the relief camp set up in Phayeng High School.
The simple function was attended by Phayeng High School headmaster Angom Tomba and Moirangthem Inaotombi Memorial Trust chairperson N Nolinibala Devi among others.
