Report unfounded, says Govt

IMPHAL, Sep 18 : The State Government has rejected a particular news item published in a vernacular daily under the heading “Nupising phajillu, numit 10 nida engthahange : Amit Shah” (Curtail the activities of womenfolk and peace will return in 10 days) as totally unfounded.
It has come to the notice of the State Government that many unverified/fake news are published/broadcasted in media (print, electronic and social media) regarding the statements made and issues discussed during the current visit of the Manipur Legislative Speaker, Ministers and MLAs to New Delhi to meet the Central leaders so as to bring about a peaceful lasting solution to the prevailing situation in the State, conveyed a press release issued by DIPR.
It also appealed to the entire media fraternity to publish only those news items released officially by DIPR in connection with the current visit of the Speaker, Ministers and MLAs to New Delhi.
