Swachhata League 2.0 launched at Jiribam

JIRIBAM, Sep 18: The Jiribam Municipal Council has launched the Indian Swachhata League 2.0 under the theme of "Garbage Free India" in connection with the Swachhata Hi Seva (SHS) campaign celebrated from September 15 to October 2 under the Swachh Bharat Mission.
A cleanliness and tree plantation drive was conducted in the surrounding areas of the Hijam Irabot memorial statue at Babupara, Jiribam in this connection.
The event was attended by staff of District Administration, PHED Sub Division, SHGs, youth volunteers, sanitary workers and brand ambassador of Indian Swachhata League 2.0 H Brojen Singh among others.
On the first day of the ISL 2.0, a door to door volunteer registration drive and painting competition for students were conducted accompanied by a 'Swachhata Pledge' taking ceremony. Speaking in this connection, Moirangthem Surjit Singh, executive officer, Jiribam Municipal Council urged the public of Jiribam to participate in the half-month long Indian Swachhata League 2.0.
