IMPHAL, Sep 19 : BCCI has appointed the former honorary secretary of Manipur Cricket Association (MNCA), Singam Priyananda as the BCCI "Match Observer" for the 1st One Day International Match between India and Australia scheduled on September 22.
The match will be played at Punjab Cricket Association IS Bindra Stadium, Mohali.
Priyananda will be leaving Imphal for Mohali tomorrow for the match, said MNCA in a statement.
Honorary president of MNCA, RK Imo congratulated Priyananda on his appointment as the match observer and thanked BCCI for having confidence in the State Association's administrators and officials.
"It is a proud moment for the association," added RK Imo.
Honorary secretary of MNCA, Leishangthem Ronel also joined in congratulating Priyananda on his appointment. He said," I believe such appointments and assignments from the BCCI will surely lead to a more promising future for cricket in the State."
