Manipur finish with 9 medals at National Canoe Sprint C'ship

IMPHAL, Sep 19 : Manipur bagged as many as 3 silver and 6 bronze medals at the National Canoe Sprint Championship which was held from September 14 to 17 at Tehri Dam Uttarakhand under the aegis of Indian Kayaking and Canoeing Association.
Manipur also managed to secure a historic silver medal in the National Sea Kayaking and Stand Up Paddling Championship hosted in Tamil Nadu.
In the National Canoe Sprint Championship, Manipur's O Arun bagged two silver medals, one each in the K1 1000 m and 500 m events as K Sarju Devi and S Sanatombi settled for the other silver medal in the C2 event.
K Sarju and Sanatombi also went on to win bronze medals in the C2 500 m and 200 m events. The other bronze medals were won by L Roshan in the K1 5000 m race; K Sarju in C1 1000 m event; K Shyamjit, Priyobarta, H Abung and L Sanjesh in the K4 500 m event and A Nicholas and L Sanjesh in the K2 200 m event.
