All Manipur Gorkha Students Union celebrates 56th foundation day

The 56th Foundation Day celebration of All Manipur Gorkha Students Union (AMGSU) was held yesterday at Community Hall, Kanglatongbi.
The programme was graced by Meena Bista, former Pradhan, Kanglatongbi GP; LB Adhikari, President AMGSU; Mani Kumar Limbu, Principal, The Roses English School;  Gopal Limbu, Principal, The Froebel English School; Dr Ishor Kharel and Dr Suderson Chhetry as the presidium members, said a statement by AMGSU.
The function was also attended by leaders of AMGSU Units, Gorkha CSOs, Clubs, Women Society and Advisory Board members of AMGSU.
As a part of the programme, one minute silence prayer was held for all the departed members of AMGSU and for the peace of all people killed in the ethnic clash.
Meritorious students of Gorkha community who have achieved commendable feats were felicitated during the programme .
In view of the immense suffering caused by the tragic communal conflict, AMGSU appealed to all the communities in the State to join hands for bringing peace and normalcy.
The union also appealed to all the stakeholders to refrain from violence, spreading rumours, and other destructive forms of behaviour which lead to more suffering and hardship to the common and innocent public.
With regard to some social media accounts being opened in the name of its community which are uploading negative comments using the social media platforms, the Union warned that complaints will be filed to the competent authorities regarding the same.
