Literature fest lined up

Shankardev Education and Research Foundation (SERF) is  organizing a National level Literature Festival titled 'Pragjyotishpur Literature Festival (PLF)' aimed at re-establishing India as the epicentre of literature and culture.
Pragjyotishpur Literature Festival will be held from September 29 till October 1, 2023 at the District Library and the Asam Sahitya Sabha premises, Guwahati.
Addressing a press conference today held in connection with the upcoming literature festival at Dispur Press Club, Guwahati, President of the Working Committee, Phanindra Kr Debchaudhury and General Secretary Bikram
Kalita informed that writers and poets across the country will participate in various capacities in the festival.
Bikram Kalita further informed that 'Pragjyotishpur Literature Award' will be awarded in two categories to recognize the leading authors and to encourage the new and promising writers.
Dr Sudeshna Bhattacharya, Head of Sanskrit Department, Guwahati University and Secretary of SERF announced that the festival will be held under the theme "In Search of roots". She also stressed on the need of educating the youth about the ancient heritage, culture and literature.
Vice-president of the Committee, Dr Sarita Sharma shared the festival will be based on a number of aspects including history, culture, translation, literature, nature, cinema, quiz, workshops etc.
Lastly, the working committee sought cooperation and support from all for the success of the upcoming literature festival.
