IMPHAL, Sep 3 : Manipur's Hemam London did India proud by winning a silver medal at the 13th National Singapore National Diving Championship held at OCBC Aquatic Centre, Singapore from September 1 till today.
London won the silver medal for India in the 1m springboard event securing 299.05 points as Singapore's Avvir Tham fetched the yellow metal with a staggering 355.10 points.
With London's medal, the Indian team finished with 3 silver and 3 bronze medals at the event where divers from New Zealand, China and Malaysia also participated.
London, who is also in India's diving team for the 19th Asian Games, is among the 6 divers representing India at the championship.
He currently trains under coach M Kunjakeshore at Army Sports Institute, Pune.
London, born to Hemam Surchandra and Hemam Jaya Devi of Moirang Hemam Leikai, is also a National championship medallist.
The young diver is expected to deliver his best at the 19th Asian Games due to be held in Hangzhou, China from September 23 to October 8.
